Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then found many other marked cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report initial examinations show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the residents for tips.
An important representative stated the vandalism made him speechless and required to be solved quickly.
"This act hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
