Aircraft Spirals Out of Control into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Beach
An aircraft flying near a well-attended coastal shoreline abruptly started spinning wildly, finally losing altitude and crashing into a cluster of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Footage uploaded on the internet show the aircraft beginning to twirl near the shoreline then falling towards the perimeter of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palm groves and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” following the incident on the weekend.
Three people on the road were hurt. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
